Love..........

A topic we all claim to know so much about. So, lets test the waters with this one shall we? Who out there in blogger land knows what love is? Who can leave a comment here for this blog explaining it? Does anyone have the courage to undertake such a bold dare? I think a couple of you might, if I know you all so well as I think I do. I have a feeling at least one certain individual will throw their 2 cents in. Here I shall shall wait for a bold soul to take my challenge.

To give you all a little help I have come up with some explanations of what love is by famous people. Lets see what they have to say.

"I never knew how to worship until I knew how to love" - Henry Ward Beecher

"True love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about but few have seen" - La Rochefoucauld

"To love another person is to see the face of god" - Les Miserables

"Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition" - Alexander Smith

"A very small degree of hope is sufficient to cause the birth of love" - Stendhal

"You call it madness, but I call it love" - Don Byas

"If you would be loved, love and be lovable" - Benjamin Franklin

So, there you have it. Many views on the word itself, lets see what you all think. Oh, and by the way, no cheating with more famous quotes. I want to hear what YOU think and feel.

Cheers to you all!

There is no one definition of love. Love is subjective, Love is blind, Love is what you make it.

Love comes in many forms and you experience it in many different ways.

The bottom line is there will be at least once in a life time that you will experience LOVE. Love for a friend, Love for family, Love for move, Love for a book and most of all Love for yourself.

I think that love is a willful commitment that people make to one another. There will be many times that one does not feel "in love". It takes a commitment of love. Also I hate the term "falling in love" or "in love". If one can fall in love that means that they can fall out of love. How easy is that!!!! That makes it to easy. Love is sacrifice when everything in your being does not want to. Love is faithfulness when all you want to do is run. Love is willfully committing yourself to another without conditions. I guess to me that is what love is.

Love is...
unpredictable, patient, forgiving, life changing, passionate, butterflies in your stomach, serious, affectionate, admiring, loyal, heart-wrenching, tender, giggly, honest, always developing and ever changing, fun, challenging, risky but comfortable, amazing. It's like fingerprints..never the same for 2 people. It can put you in the clouds but it can knock you off your feet.
And, I cheated and found a quote that sums it up for me...
"Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile."
